Welcome to Pacific Harmony Choir! These Terms and Conditions outline the guidelines and expectations for all our members. By joining and participating in Pacific Harmony Choir, you agree to abide by these terms, which help us maintain a positive, organized, and harmonious environment for everyone.
1. Membership and Fees

Becoming a part of Pacific Harmony Choir involves understanding our membership structure and financial commitments.

Membership Fees: Our current membership fees cover the rental costs for rehearsal and concert venues, sheet music, and the piano accompanist.

Payment Methods and Deadlines: Payments can be made via e-transfer to pacificharmonychoir@gmail.com. All fees are due by the day of the start of the semester.

Cancellation and Refund Policy: If you are not satisfied after attending 2 rehearsals, you can receive an 80% refund of your total fee for that session. No refunds are available after the second rehearsal.​

2. Attendance and Participation
​
Your consistent presence and active involvement are vital to the success of our choir.

Punctuality: We kindly request that all members arrive on time for rehearsals and performances. This allows us to start promptly and make the most of our time together.

Missed Rehearsals: If you are unable to attend a rehearsal, please email the director (Mandy Weston) with your absence and reason if possible. There is no penalty for missed rehearsals, but attending all rehearsals is strongly encouraged for the success and cohesion of the group.

Performance Requirements: Participation in performances is a core part of our choir experience. Members are expected to attend designated performance rehearsals and adhere to any specific attire guidelines provided for concerts.

Music Learning: Members are encouraged to practice and learn their music outside of scheduled rehearsals. Practice tracks will be provided.

Director Absence: If Mandy misses a rehearsal, a substitute will be provided for the rehearsal. Section leaders can also help to direct and/or workshop with their sections.

3. Conduct and Behavior

We are committed to fostering a supportive and respectful community for all our members.

Code of Conduct: All members are expected to interact with fellow singers, director, accomapnists, and staff with courtesy and respect. This includes using appropriate language, maintaining personal space, and being mindful of differing perspectives.

Respect for Others: We value diversity and inclusivity. Please be respectful of personal boundaries, individual preferences, and any specific needs of other members.

Zero-Tolerance Policy: Pacific Harmony Choir maintains a zero-tolerance policy for any form of harassment, discrimination, bullying, or aggressive behaviour. Such conduct may lead to immediate suspension or termination of membership.

Dispute Resolution: Should any disagreements or concerns arise between members or with the choir organization, please raise them privately with Mandy Weston. We are committed to addressing issues fairly and constructively.

4. Health and Safety

Your well-being is important to us, and we take reasonable precautions to ensure a safe environment.

Illness Policy: If you are feeling unwell, particularly with symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, we kindly request that you social distance with a mask or stay home from rehearsals and performances to prevent the spread of illness.

Risk Awareness: By participating in group activities, you acknowledge the inherent risk of exposure to airborne illnesses. We encourage good hygiene practices, such as hand washing and covering coughs/sneezes.​

5. Other Important Information

Communication: Our primary methods of communication will be email. Please check your email regularly for important updates.

Liability Waiver: By participating in Pacific Harmony Choir activities, you acknowledge and accept that Pacific Harmony Choir and its organizers, volunteers, or instructors (including Mandy Weston) are not liable for any personal injury, loss, or damage to personal property that may occur during rehearsals, performances, or other choir-related events, unless caused by gross negligence.
